    GSP Primed For Octagon Return

    The boxing world took a huge blow earlier today when legendary Hall of Fame boxing trainer Emanuel Steward passed away at the age of 68.

    Steward is best known as the founder of the Kronk Gym and the trainer of Hall of Famer Thomas Hearns.


    During his illustrious career, Steward trained more than 40 world champions. In recent years, he was the head trainer of heavyweights Lennox Lewis and Wladimir Klitschko.

    On Saturday night from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, junior welterweight titlist Danny Garcia destroyed ring legend Erik Morales in four rounds in the Showtime quadruple header.     This past Saturday night UFC legend Anderson Silva (33-4) destroyed Stephan Bonnar (15-8) at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In the first round, Silva landed a perfectly placed knee to the solar plexus. Bonnar hit the canvas and Silva put him away. The bout was called off at 4:40 of round one.

    As expected, Bonnar did not provide much of a challenge. Silva now turns his eyes towards a more formidable challenge.

    Tarver Suspension Upheld

    On Monday the California State Athletic Commission voted 4-1 to uphold a one-year suspension it gave former light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver in June after he tested positive for an anabolic steroid. Tarver tested positive after his bout with Lateef Kayode on June 2 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.
