Post Golden Boy and Fox Sports Finalize Multi-Year Deal

On Monday, FOX Sports announced it has finalized a multi-year deal with Golden Boy Promotions.

The Fox network plans to televise at least one boxing event per month in the United States on Fox Deportes, Fox Sports regional networks, Fuel TV, as well as live boxing events from cities throughout Mexico.

In the first event, Daniel Ponce De Leon (42-4, 35 KOs) faces off against Eduardo Lazcano (24-2, 11 KOs) in a battle of southpaws. The event will take place on Friday, May 4, the day before Mayweather/Cotto. In the supporting bout, Derrick Ennis (23-3-1, 13 KOs) faces Ishe Smith (22-5, 10 KOs).

Fox networks will also now have rights to Golden Boy's Solo Boxeo series in Mexico and Central America. The network also gains access to classic bouts from the GB fight library, which includes future hall of famers such as De La Hoya, Bernard Hopkins, Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera.

    Good news for boxing fans.

    Good news for boxing fans.
Juarez v. Cuatemoc Chihuahua, I like that matchup. This is some good news, more televised boxing will probably be the result, we can always use that.
