Big fight this weekend between Andre Ward and Chad Dawson.
However, the co-main event may end up stealing the show. Antonio Demarco vs. John Molina. This one should be a cracker.

John Molina? Is that the guy who lost to James Kirkland?
He faded bad in that fight if that's who I think it is.
As far as Ward/Dawson.
Dawson is excessively patient. He doesn't let his hands go.It's like he's waiting to see an opening.
I think Ward (& I can't stand Ward's style) will be busier which will influence the judges & not be shy about grabbing negating Chad's ability to get off (punches) or even establish a rhythm.

Ward all the way, baby.

Up, up, and awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!

No, that's Carlos Molina, a junior middleweight.
John Molina is a lightweight contender. His most notable victory was against Hank Lundy (TKO11) a few years ago.
Antonio DeMarco is the current WBC lightweight champion. He's only lost once in the last six years, a 9th round corner stoppage against the late Edwin Valero. DeMarco's best victory to date was against Jorge Linares (TKO11).

The outcome of Ward/Dawson really depends on Dawson. If he fights his typical fight, he's going to lose a decision. If he mans up and takes it to the smaller Ward, he stands a good chance. My gut tells me he's going to fight his typical fight and step it up when it's much too late.

A la Jean Pascal. That's the same problem he had in that fight.U can't follow people around the ring & just watch them & swing momentum after they accumulate a comfortable lead on the cards.
He needs to cut of the ring & feint to create openings & run his hands in combination.Take the initiative.I don't know if that's his nature or if his corner (Dawson's) will motivate him to do so.
Andre's style is painful to watch (boring) but it is effective nonetheless. He'll get off first. He'll tie up when he wants too.He does a good job of managing the fight. He'll do just enough to edge rounds.

Although this fight will probably be painful to watch I will be watching because it is significant even if their styles aren't very fan friendly. I think we're all going in shitting on this fight so that we don't get our hopes up but secretly hoping they step it up and give an entertaining fight. I expect Ward to outhustle Dawson, dirty box him, land the bigger combos, etc. Dawson has never impressed me. His best victory might be a win over Adamek. His most entertaining fight was probably against Pascal because he was cut and down on the cards. He doesn't seem to have the urgency or hunger to reach his potential.

Ward-Dawson. ZZZZZ fest Ward by 116-112 on all cards. Lamply will be nut-hugging Ward all night. DeMarco-Mollina WILL be a great fight. I am taking Demarco by about 115-113 (twice) and 116-112.

Knockdowns by Ward in rounds 3 and 4. 5 slows down. Ward in control.

Ward fighting with his head

Ward should clean out 175 next.

Every era has a virtuoso.
Whitaker, then RJ, then Floyd, now........ it's Ward.
He's an awesome fighter.

Was Ward that much better or was Dawson severely weight drained?
If Ward wants to clean out 175, he should begin by allowing his opponents to fight in that weight class.

I did not like Ward at first but he gets better and better. Real decisive TKO...super dominant....Ringo

Damn. I knew DeMarco was in another class, but that was just sad. The first punch seriously hurt Molina and he never recovered.

DeMarco did his Valero imitation.
As for Ward.Ward is borderline dirty. He's a little bit like a young Hopkins. He pushes your head down.He rubs the side of his head on your face & opens a cut.He pushes your face back with an open glove but he is a very capable boxer besides all his dirty tactics. He likes to rush & hold but whatever.
Dawson could not read the '3' (the '1' being the jab,'2',the straight right.'3',the hook).
He thought if he slipped the 1-2 while leaning forward the combination was over & then Ward would turn the hook over & land it around the temple area consistently.
It was all downhill from there.
Somebody has to step up to Ward & fight fire with fire.

I have my doubts. Ward didn't even look powerful against Allen Green.
Ward is damn good, but I want to see him actually dominate at 175.

Sure. Fights are won in the ring, not on paper. Hops and Campillo are there as well.

I'm a Ward fan. However, I don't believe he deserves to be called the best fighter in the world after dominating 168 and destroying a weight drained Dawson. Fighters like Floyd, Pac, JMM have been doing their thing throughout multiple weight classes for many years. Ward needs to move up and face the light heavies at lhw. That's not a lot to ask if he's truly one of boxing's best.

Dominating multiple weights is not a sign of greatness...ask Marvin Hagler and Carlos Monzon...both all time great middleweights...among others.
Besides, Dawson IS the best light heavyweight already...some stop smoking that sin semilla, lol.
Up, up, and awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!
