This would have been great if it were a fifteen rounder as I have a feeling Vasquez could have eventually scored a possible knockout the way the fight ended in trading in the twelfth. As it turned out Donaires left hand looked very injured. Very good fight to watch even though the punchstats were lopsided.. Ringo

117-110, 117-110 Donaire
115-112 Vazquez
How in hell can you have such disparate scores?
Fucking fights should end in KO. Whatever rounds are needed.

On my card Rubio hasn't come close to winning a round. Chavez Jr. imposing his will.

Donaire was not impressive, neither is Chavez Jr or Rubio for that matter.

Chavez Jr. 118-110, 116-112, 115-113? UD.
Rubio wasn't close. 118-110 is more like it.

I've always like Jr. from the beginning but I must say he should have had a ko with those body shots. I feel like his drinking so close to the fight hampered him and I hope he does not have the addiction gene like his father who ended up in rehab to get himself straight again. Again, good win but should have been a ko with an opponent posing in front of him so much. Ringo

That fucken interpreter...I can't stand that worthless cocksucker...I hope he dies right now.
Chavez said he "could" loose to Martinez if he doesn't prepare properly...he did NOT say he would loose for sure (interpreter said Martinez would win, Chavez said he could loose)...completely different approach and meaning...all gone to shit...thanks to that piece of shit worthless motherfucker.
Up, up, and awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!

Was Rubio even trying? He seemed to be throwing nothing but arm punches and was moving backwards too much, eventhough Chavez wasnt really hurting him.
Rubio never seemed hurt, like he was vs Pavlik. In the final two rounds when he finally opened up, he busted Chavez up. he seemed very, very slow and very reluctant to let his hands go. I wonder if Chavez' #1 fan, Jose Sulaiman paid Rubio to not punch Jr very hard.Colombian or Puerto Rican women? YUUUUUKKKK I liked bubba better.

I thought the 117-110 scorecard was about right. I freaked out when I heard the first judge had the fight for Vazquez. What the fuck?
Donaire was impressive, he boxed well, showed good movement, power, and handspeed.
Vazquez has a lot of tools, but in the end, he didn't have the heart nor the willingness to put it all on the line, and he needed that to get a win over someone of Donaire's caliber.
Good win for Donaire over a young former champion in Wilfredo Vazquez Jr.!

I think Chavez fought a smart fight as far as using angles and the correct distance. He smothered Rubio a lot and didn't allow him to get his full extension on his power punches. He did land some pretty good punches on Chavez over the course of the fight, especially the last couple of rounds.
I thought the exchanges in round 11 were great. I watched a few of his fights leading up to this one. I would have said that it didn't matter if Chavez won a number of early rounds, because Rubio could change it when you least expect it. See his fight with Lemiuex, he didn't seem to be doing very well the first few rounds but the knock out kind of snuck up on us. Chavez fought a smart fight and showed a decent chin and decent defense, or a little of both you could say.
