I dont know how you guys didnt see it going the way it turned out. I always thought that Angulo was way too slow, plodding, and easy to hit.

Many members said Kirkland had a good chance and it was basically going to be one of those whomever lands first type fights. You guys need to learn to thoroughly read.
I was basically the only one who was ballsy enough to make a strong prediction either way. It was the wrong prediction but that happens. I wasn't alone. Angulo was the favorite going in.

Very impressed with Kirkland, the way he took the knock down and the furious flurry afterward and the way he came back is stuff of champions. He was almost out and to put El perro on the floor and take the fight away from him.wow. Congrats on a great fight and no shame for angulo he fought a guy who wasn't gonna be denied. They won't let canelo come within 100 feet of Kirkland, he would murder him too.

LOL so now that Angulo is done you'll be moving on to swinging off Kirkland's nutz huh tuercas...
Lets not start overrating Kirkland...he fought a gutsy fight. But I can't imagine Canelo standing in front of kirkland and going toe to toe like that idiot did tonight. Styles make fights.

What's worst beign a tuercas on beign cheated on by your wife? Jaja Roy Jones, Max kellerman,Jim lampley. And most boxing fans know that canelo wants no part of that. Swinging off kirklands nuts? Hardly, but I bet you would love to do just that, since he's a fellow inmate.Jaja I saw a great performance by a guy who was determined and has a fucking hard punch. He did better than most imagined he would and for that I salute him. And ela perro lost, but he lost like a ma. He's not a ducker like your paper champ.

Anybody noticed how the HBO camera kept panning to the sides to avoid those delicious ring card girl juicy asses up in the ring, while both Kellerman and Lampley were talking?

Up, up, and awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!

It was a great round but it was more toughman than top-level stuff. Nevertheless, it was fun and entertaining and boxing needs more of it.

I think you have to give a ton of credit to Kirkland for coming back after that huge knockdown, give a lot of credit to Ann Wolfe for keeping him focused and motivated, and lastly be thankful that there was a ref in there that let these boys bang it out. That was one of the better ref jobs I've seen in awhile. A lot of refs would have stopped it in the first round but he let Kirkland try to fight his way out of trouble. Also it was pretty much a perfect stoppage. He got in there just in time so that Angulo didn't take anymore damage cause he wasn't going to quit. Nacho should have stepped in sooner but Nacho is an asshole sometimes.

I picked angulo by 1st round ko only because of kirklands chin and it was so close to happening but i also said kirkland could also knock angulo out in round 1 and he did drop him, i eventually went with angulo because it was in mexico and i didnt trust kirklands chin otherwise on paper kirkland has done more than angulo and knocked guys out faster than angulo did (same fighters they both fought i mean).

No way Canelo makes the same mistake Angulo did. Canelo handles Kirkland easily in two fights. Great showing by both fighters though.
Tanke, this outcome is the reason I told you Angulo is mediocre. He is a plodder who throws wide punches and gets caught more often than not. Canelo would pick him apart.¡No contaban con mi astucia!

I still say angulo takes him out. canelo was rocked by feather fisted cotto...the other cotto. he wouldn't have gotten up from that punch to the chops that angulo knocked kirkland down with.

I never said Angulo was a great fighter, did I? I said Canelo was ducking him, and now Canelo will Duck Kirkland. Mark my words.
And let me ask you, do you see anything in Canelo that suggests he will be a great fighter? I dont, neither him nor Chavez jr.
Now, dont put words in my mouth, I never said Angulo was destined for greatness, I know he would lose to some fighters, including Pacquiao, Mayweather, Martinez, and a few others. But Canelo is not in their league, and will never be. Lets not act like Canelos chin or boxing ability has been tested vs good fighters, because he hasnt.
If Canelo( who has very slow feet and mediocre handspeed) and Angulo fought next month, Id pick Angulo, Canelo wouldnt have survived that first KD Kirkland survived. Hell, like Mex said he was almost KTFO and it took him forever to recouperate vs lightweight Cotto, yeah the other Cotto.
- November 7th, 2011, 11:16 AM #59
Canelo has good handspeed, puts punches together well, knows when to press (after watching Angulo we know how important that is), and although he is slow-ish he is not a pldder and his footwork is good and he always seems to be balanced and ready. Canelo will be ready for a Kirkland style fighter (risk) after he fights Cintron imo.

We disagree here, I think he has very slow feet, and does put his punches together well, but who has he been fighting? Has he fought a decent puncher at all?
The problem I have with Canelo is if hes gonna parade around carrying a green belt, then he should be ready for all comers. Can you deny his opponents have been hand picked?
