Gamboa ko 4, way to classy for rios.
- February 16th, 2012, 09:11 PM #3
Oh fuck yeah! I can't wait to see this. I think that Gamboa's speed will make the difference though.

Interesting. Gamboa is a unknown at 135. Gamboa's speed and power vs. Rios effective brawling style.

rios is my favorite fighter right now, and i don't give a fuck if he gets ktfo, he'll go out on his shield doing it.
i still see him taking gamboa out in about 8.

This would be a great win for him if he can pull it off. Gamboa has been fighting at feather and Rios and lightweight. You'd be happy to know that both of them fucked up a Chihuahua fighter lately (Ponce de Leon and Antillon). I wonder if size will play a factor in the outcome. Donaire is happy that Gamboa is moving away from the weights that he plans to campaign in I think!

as if its such a difficult thing to do (fuck up a shihuahua fighter)

Gamboa might be moving up but Nonito still needs to get past Arce if Arce can get past his current opponent.
As much as I like Rios I can't see him beating a good boxer like Gamboa. Rios is fun to watch but he is too one-dimensional and much slower than Gamboa. I give Rios a punchers chance but I'm leaning towards Gamboa. It should be a great fight!!!

My initial gut feeling says this will be Gamboa's breakout fight. I hope I'm wrong.
- February 21st, 2012, 09:47 AM #12
gamboa will try to make it a stinker by doing what most pinko commie refugee cubans do....tap tap tap and run.
hopefully he'll stay in the pocket and try to mix it up with rios. thats the type of fight i'm expecting, anyway.
gamboa is no jorge luis gonzalez, thats for sure. no one can obtain that kind of awesomeness.

i'm just glad we were alive while he was in his prime. i pity the fans that never saw him in his heyday. we're blessed.

all these other so-called "fans" will never understand how great he was. i'm sure they're rolling their eyes right now. they can kiss my black ass, as far as i'm concerned.

On the undercard, Mike Alvarado (32-0, 23 KOs) may face Mauricio Herrera (18-1, 7 KOs), who handed Rusland Provodnikov his first loss in a close decision in January 2011 on ESPN2.

This is going to be a great fight. Bam Bam is the significantly bigger guy, but Gamboa has the faster hands and better skills. Bam Bam is coming to go to war; Gamboa will try to use his handspeed, but when he gets tagged, we may see fire works. Gamboa is no stranger to the canvas.
The kid is back!

Gamboa is holding out til he gets more $. No deal was signed on his end apparently. What a pussy ass move! He waits until a few minutes before the press conference to relay this information to Top Rank. It'll suck to lose this fight I'm still bummed that we didn't get to see Ortiz-Berto II.

He didn't show up to the LA presser either so I am pretty sure this fight will get shit canned soon and we will be left with Rios Vs. Some bum Abril

Top Rank even offered $100K extra for the winner yet he still backed out of the fight. What a shame.

that pussy is definitely no JL Gonzalez.
