Ortiz started off well but got countered with a shot he never recovered from. Little Nog put him down with a big knee and beat on him on the ground with head and body punches until the ref called a halt to the bout.

Great rematch fight between Big Nog and Frank Mir. Noguiera hurt Mir early and had him all but out before finding himself in a ground submission war which eventually found Mir locking in the kimura for the submission victory. Nogueira's arm looked badly broken.

Good tactical stand up first round with lots of kicks. Machida takes the round with some nice counters. He managed to stagger Jones.

    Round 2

Jones lands a good right hand, takes Machida down moments later. Jones dominating on the ground. He lands a huge elbow which causes a huge gash on Machida's brow. They stand back up and Jones lands a huge right which sends Machida down. Machida gets up with his back up against the cage. Jones sinks in the guillotine submission and the ref calls a halt to the bout. Machida crumples to the canvas.

Great victory for Jones. He battled through some adversity and let his natural talent go to work. He took control of the fight once he was able to get it to the ground. Impressive.

I didn't get to watch the card live as I had my wife's work X-mas party, but I caught the highlights online. Seemed like a good card.

Jon Jones should be the biggest star in MMA.

He finishes fights, he fights the best in his division, his fights are never boring, he's well spoken and he has a GQ image. The UFC needs to put his next fight on Fox to expose him to as many new fans as they can.

I think he rolls right through Rashad if they fight. A Henderson fight would be pretty interesting though. After that, who's left?

Great night of fights. I think it was probably one of the most brutal MMA cards in recent history. Seriously, Nog lying on the canvas literally in shock with his arm or shoulder snapped, Tito Ortiz crying from wicked body shots, Machida's body dropping lifelessly to the canvas with blood gushing from his head.

It's a good thing this card wasn't on FOX. The network executives would be wondering what the hell that had done the next day.

I don't see Jones moving to heavyweight anytime soon. I haven't heard about him having any issues making 205.

Maybe Anderson gets over Chael in June and they can fight in late 2012.
